Developed with I-CAR NZ and endorsed by the Collision Repair Association, this eLearning programme is designed for those interested in learning the skills and knowledge to repair paintwork on damaged vehicles and make them look as good as new!
PROGRAMME OUTLINE

Choose to complete one or both of the following qualifications:
- New Zealand Certificate in Collision Repair and Automotive Refinishing (Level 3)
- New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Refinishing (Level 4).
The unit standards within this qualification will ensure that you are able to prepare, restore, and finish painted vehicle surfaces. These skills can then be applied to a range of jobs, from repairing damaged paintwork to simply adding some cosmetic enhancement.
Learning outcomes include:
- How to work safely and effectively in the collision repair and automotive refinishing industry
- Apply fundamental collision repair knowledge to remove and replace vehicle components to assist with collision repair
- Apply fundamental automotive refinishing knowledge to repair minor damage and prepare vehicle components for refinishing work
- Selecting the appropriate tools, products and equipment for restoring and refinishing a vehicle’s body surface
- How to mix and match colour, and ensure that quality of a prepared body surface is in line with company requirements
- Apply refinishing knowledge to restore and refinish a vehicle’s body surface.
