APPRENTICESHIP BOOST
______
Apprenticeship Boost is a payment to employers of apprentices in their first and second year of training. The subsidy to employers covers $500 per month in the apprentice's first and second year.
The Government is making changes to Apprenticeship Boost. From 1 January 2025, it will only be available for employers of first-year apprentices.
The targeted occupations that are eligible for Apprenticeship Boost from 1 January 2025 include Automotive Engineering and Technology (which includes commercial road transport), Process and Resources Engineering (which includes extractives and drilling), and Other Engineering and Technology (which includes gas).
This means that all MITO apprenticeship programmes will continue to be supported by Apprenticeship Boost.
This scheme is administered by the Ministry of Social Development with the Work and Income website providing more details.
