NEW OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT PROGRAMME LAUNCHED
Enrolments are now open for the training programme that leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Outdoor Power Equipment (Level 3 and 4).
MITO’s training programme will provide those working in the industry with the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively inspect, diagnose and repair faults on outdoor power equipment from chainsaws to lawn mowers.
“Designed in consultation with industry, this innovative training programme has been developed to ensure it meets their specific training requirements,” says MITO Chief Executive Janet Lane.
“With new unit standards that cover topics from fundamental automotive engineering knowledge through to full diagnosis and repair of all outdoor power equipment, this programme provides a clear career pathway for outdoor power equipment technicians, while delivering valuable skills to industry.”
The training programme includes both on-the-job practical learning in the workplace and eLearning – allowing learners to complete theory elements in their own time using a mobile phone, tablet or computer.
