MTA100: CAR SHOW OF THE CENTURY
The Motor Trade Association (MTA) will mark its first 100 years of service as a membership organisation in April 2017. This national event, on Wellington waterfront 28-30 April 2017 will focus on the past, present and future.
To celebrate the past, The Love of Cars, will feature past vehicles of all kinds displayed in the TSB Arena undercover carpark, and will give MTA members and car clubs an opportunity to showcase their love of vehicles.
In a separate exhibition in Wellington’s Shed 6, Great Kiwis, Great Cars will be a display and a highlights reel of some of the stand-out vehicle and driving stories of the nation. Come along to see some great vehicles like the Trekka, the Fastest Indian, the Hulme Super Car… and more.
To celebrate the present, MTA is hosting a Speakers Programme exploring the issues that face the automotive industry during this period of unprecedented change. This will involve international speakers including Ian Wright from Wrightspeed Ltd, and Frank Rinderknecht, the CEO of Swiss firm Rinspeed Ltd.
To anticipate the future, MTA is working with leading automobile brands and technology companies to create an exhibition of the new technologies that are becoming an integral part of motor vehicles and transport systems. This will be THE FUTURE TODAY: Vehicle Design and Technology Exhibition. This will be held in the premiere space of the TSB Arena and the centrepiece will be the Rinspeed autonomous concept car known as the Budii.
These three exhibitions, plus the chance for members of the public to drive an electric car -will together comprise the largest scale event ever hosted by MTA.
