2025 Scholarship Applications Now Open!

MITO, in partnership with Inspiring Futures Foundation, is now welcoming applications for the 2025 scholarship programme.

Multiple scholarships will be awarded across 20 categories. Previous scholarship recipients have developed their skills in apprenticeships, traineeships and business skills to specialise in a certain field and support their management goals. All recipients receive advisory support from MITO throughout their training.


Five new categories have been added this year:

The MITO Alumni Advanced Technical – Women scholarship covers the training fee for MITO’s Collision Repair Level 5, Light Automotive Engineering Level 5Heavy Automotive Level 5, or Automotive Electrical Engineering Level 5 programme, commencing in 2025. Applicants must have completed a MITO automotive apprenticeship to be eligible. Multiple scholarships are available for applicants who identify as women.

The MITO Alumni Electric Vehicle – Women scholarship covers the programme fee for MITO’s Electric Vehicle Automotive Engineering Level 5 programme, commencing in 2025. Applicants must have completed a MITO automotive apprenticeship and be employed full-time in the automotive industry. Multiple scholarships are available for applicants who identify as women.

The MITO KickStart – Women scholarship covers the first-year fees for a MITO training programme commencing in 2025. Applicants must be employed full-time in any of MITO’s industries or have an offer of employment for next year if still in school. Multiple scholarships are available for applicants who identify as women.

The MITO New Start – Advanced Technical scholarship covers the training fee for MITO’s Collision Repair Level 5, Light Automotive Engineering Level 5Heavy Automotive Level 5, or Automotive Electrical Engineering Level 5 programme for someone new to New Zealand who holds a suitable pre-requisite qualification (not through MITO) and is employed full-time in the automotive industry, commencing in 2025. The MITO New Start – Electric Vehicle scholarship covers the training fee for MITO’s Electric Vehicle Automotive Engineering Level 5 programme for someone new to New Zealand who holds a suitable pre-requisite qualification (not through MITO) and is employed full-time in the automotive industry, commencing in 2025. Multiple scholarships are available.
